Lifetime friends, Melissa and Marielena, wanted to create a brand where they can make women feel free and authentic about themselves. BG Costa Rica desires to complement their individuality with elegance and a boho chic style, promoting simplicity and slow fashion.

Versatility in sizing

Every piece can be used by all body types, even by pregnant woman, during post-partum and breastfeeding, to practice yoga or to wear on a daily basis to relax at home or go out and have fun.

We want you to wear our pieces for years, even decades, to come. That’s why we source the finest materials and seamstresses for our timeless products, employing several local woman and ensuring we are ethically producing our collections.

Our Fabric

You will love our fabrics, the way they feel, fit and last.

We use in our designs Modal, a semi-synthetic fabric made from beech tree pulp. An eco-friendly alternative to cotton because beech trees don’t require much water to grow and therefore the production process uses about 10-20 times less water.

Durable

It’s lightweight and durable, and resistant to pilling. It also won’t get that crunchiness to it after a lot of washes like some cotton blends do.

Breathable

Since it’s made from trees, it is naturally breathable. This means that sweat and moisture won’t be trapped next to the skin.

Absorbent

It’s 50% more absorbent than cotton, so you will stay dry and comfy throughout the day.

Resistant to shrinkage

Clothing made with modal won’t shrink like 100% cotton products do.

Colors stay vibrant

Modal holds dye easily, so the colors will stay vibrant even after many washes.

Super Soft

Modal is known for being super soft. That’s a big part of what makes it perfect for our products!
